What's On Tap

The beer at the Northampton Brewery is made with the finest ingredients available. English 2-row malt and hops from the pacific northwest, along with water and brewer's yeast are what we use to create the many popular beers served through the taps at the Northampton Brewery. The variety of beers are as diverse as the range of people who enjoy them, so we strive to have a little something for everyone. You can find everything from a light bodied golden ale, refreshing crisp pale ale, delicious nut brown ale to rich creamy stout, and everything in between.

Our brewing system has a 10 barrel capacity which is 310 gallons or roughly 20 kegs of beer per batch. Our fermenters vary in size from 10, 20, and 30 barrels, which requires multiple batches from the brewhouse to fill them. Our many conditioning and serving tanks can hold up to 120 barrels (that's 29,760 pints), so we hope you're thirsty! Through the course of the year we make around 25 different styles of ales and lagers, consisting of our regular line-up and the many wonderful seasonal beers that rotate in depending on the time of year.

All Year Round

Black Cat Stout - A full bodied, rich, and creamy Irish stout. Very complex with lingering notes of roasted coffee.

Blackberry Porter - Our porter with a hint of Blackberry Essence. Slightly fruity, but still tastes like beer.

Daniel Shay's Best Bitter - English style best bitter ale. Starts off malty on the pallet and finishes of hoppy.

Hoover's Porter - A slightly rich, not too hoppy version of a classic English style porter. Although very dark in color it is medium bodied with hints of chocolate malt.

Northampton Pale Ale - A medium bodied copper colored English style bitter ale.

Old Brown Dog - A nut-brown ale that is malty in body with a little hop bite.

Paradise City Gold - A light bodied golden ale. A crisp any time drinkin' beer.

Raspberry Brown Dog - Same as the above version but with a natural raspberry essence.

Red Headed Stepchild - Our "adopted" version of an Irish red, surprisingly hoppy.

Unquamonk Amber Lager - A crisp slightly sweet version of a Vienna lager.

Spring/Summer Seasonal

Decadent Ale - This is an English style strong ale. Malty and strong always a special addition to our list.

Graduation Ale - A light bodied wheat beer fermented with fresh raspberries and strawberries.

Nonotuck I.P.A. - Our version of an India pale ale. It is straw colored and hoppy, hoppy, hoppy.

Spring Bock - A dark, medium-bodied lager to celebrate the spring season. Malty and lightly hopped

Steamer - A hybrid lager that has been brewed at ale temperatures. This beer is then dry hopped leaving it crisp and refreshing.

Weizenheimer - 60/40 malted wheat to malted barley. A crisp, refreshing summer beer.

Windbreaker Hefeweizen - 70/30 Malted wheat to malted barley ratio. Unfiltered, full bodied, and cloudy.

Fall/Winter Seasonal

Alternator - Our interpretation of a German style "alt" beer. Lots of Munich malt gives this beer a balanced sweetness and the hops give it a good bite.

Golden Lager - Our version of a classic pilsner, light bodied and crisp.

Humbug Ale - Our latest version of a holiday beer, this ale is like an IPA, just a little darker and a little stronger.

Maggie's Wee Heavy - A rich, full-bodied scotch styled ‘wee heavy'. Malt, Malt, Malt.

Oatmeal Stout - A deep rich stout made with organic rolled oats. Imparts a silky body and a smooth finish.

Octoberfest - An authentic Marzenbier it is a full bodied, red-copper colored lager.

Pumpkin Ale - 120# of organic sugar pumpkins and spices make this a seasonal favorite.

Snowshovel ESB - This extra special bitter is a well-balanced representation of the English style. This beer has a malty presence with a lingering hop finish.
